Up early to watch the waves and try to get photos of flying fish.
Our course is northwesterly. The swells are 6 to 9 feet. We have a cross wind this morning, so are gently rolling.
The temperature today is in the low 70’s. Last night we discovered it is starting to cool down at night, when Paul and I finally tried the jacuzzi. It was beautiful under the stars. We had the pool deck to ourselves, so we felt like we were on our own ship. The wakeup call about how cool it is in the evening came when the cold, damp are hit us as we emerged from the warm water in the jacuzzi. We both suffered a sudden, severe case of goose bumps. Fortunately a warm shower back in the cabin cured the problem.
Ever wonder about the grocery list for a cruise? The list is long and complex. Since we left Bridgetown, Barbados, the folks on the Silver Whisper have gone through 9600 eggs, 1450 liters of milk, 1100 pounds of beef tenderloin, 550 pounds of lobster, 1200 pounds of potatoes, 340 pounds of strawberries, 900 pounds of fresh fish, 715 bottles of red wine, 3400 pounds of oranges and 720 rolls of toilet paper – just to name a few of the things consumed. Can’t imagine how many pounds of cheese, bacon, loaves of bread, bottles of beer, cans of soda, etc. this hungry, thirsty group has gone through.
Time to go enjoy the day.
